In our daily lives we pride ourselves on being in control—planning our schedules, managing our projects, even predicting what comes next in conversation. We move from one task to another in an organized, coherent way.

But what happens when that control slips away? When our sense of safety falters, and we realize we can’t always steer the events in our lives—when circumstances, chance, or other people decide for us.

Do you feel lost without control, grasping for a steady handrail? Or, can you embrace the thrill of unpredictability—welcome the surprise that spontaneity brings? Tonight, we’ll explore our own relationships with control: how we respond when it’s ripped from us, and what we learn when we surrender to the unexpected.
