KEYNOTE SPEAKER BIOS

Daniel Mouqué is a Senior Speechwriter at the European Commission and has written speeches for politicians from 7 different countries. He also runs the Commission’s Community of Practice for speechwriters & political writers. He is a long-standing member of the Brussels Toastmasters Club and is a former European public speaking champion.

Daniel is passionate about human connection in a digital age, bringing a modern, evidence-based twist to the age-old tools of persuasion & storytelling. In his spare time, he plays ukulele & sings with his 3 small children - never mind the quality, we have enthusiasm (and volume).

Note: Daniel will be speaking on a personal basis, representing his own opinions and not those of the European Commission.

From coaching the great lawyers of Tiberghien in public speaking to advocating women's rights in Bengalore India, Charlotte De Metsenaere has been places. With her company Zeggedis, Flemish for ‘Tell me’, she coaches people to communicate in a clear yet exciting way. Using techniques from improvisational theater, she loves to create an interactivity with the audience that makes the message stick.

Together with her academic background in Corporate Communication, Charlotte knows how to translate organisational language into a message that the audience can understand & incorporate. Being a part time actor & a part time speaker & presenter means she really brings the best of both worlds.

Levy Coudyser holds Masters degrees in both philosophy & theology. After working as a moderator for Logia, a national think-thank, coordinating discussions with leading professors, politicians & business leaders, he shifted his focus to making the learnings of philosophers more easily accessible.
It is clear Levy is good at presenting his content & making his message understandable: in a short amount of time, he has built a profitable Youtube channel with almost 100k subscribers & over 200K views per month.

Outside of this, he is an advanced member of Toastmasters Fonske Leuven, regularly coaching speakers & providing public speaking workshops to different organisations in & around Leuven.

PITCHING PRACTICE WORKSHOPS

After the keynote speeches and a break, we'll break out into 4 large meeting rooms and deliver the same Pitching Practice Workshop in parallel. Each group will be led by an experienced trainer from Toastmasters Fonske Leuven.

In this 1 hour workshop, we will first teach you a 4-step Storytelling Structure that you can use to give persuasive speeches. This structure is perfect for pitching new ideas & products. We'll then give you a few minutes to work out your pitch, after which you'll have the opportunity to present your own pitch & receive feedback and to observe & learn from others in an interactive session.

We've booked all the meeting rooms that day. So you'll have plenty of time & space to learn, practice & observe.

TARGET PITCH & PANEL DISCUSSION

As a final exercise to help you integrate everything you've learned so far, we'll bring in 1 surprise speaker to deliver a target pitch and show you how it's done... and then we'll have veteran Toastmasters members from all over Belgium, all seasoned public speakers, pick apart what the target speaker did well & what they could still improve upon in a closing panel discussion.

BUFFET DINER

Depending on interest, we will arrange for catering & organize a buffet dinner.
Cost for the dinner is not included in the normal ticket price, and will be communicated at a later date.
Current target is ±80 EUR p.p. for a 3 course buffet meal with drinks included.
