“YOUR ACHILLES’ HEEL” Meeting 27/04

This will be a regular meeting with 4 speeches, 4 evaluations and a round of Table Topics — an improvised speaking game where guests are free to participate.

This meeting’s theme will be: YOUR ACHILLES’ HEEL

… During the Trojan War, Achilles was the most skilled, bravest & handsomest warrior of Agamemnon’s army. He was the greatest of all and, yet, in spite of his strength, he had ONE weak spot which ultimately led to his downfall. As a child, he was dipped in River Styx & became invulnerable, except for that one part where he’d been held during that ritual… His heel.
Each generation is increasingly being instilled with the belief that they can achieve anything. Yet, we all have weak spots. We can try to strengthen them, try to protect ourselves, just accept them, or ignore them altogether & just play to our strengths. This evening, we’ll learn about the ‘power of vulnerability’. What’s your weak spot? What’s your strategy for dealing with it? …

Remember to bring a sweater & a jacket for the later hours, as this meeting will be held outside in a covered terrace (with cosy seats & a few blankets). Drinks & snacks are available at the bar.
